Laurel on the Square Visits Rouge

The Laurel on the Square presents a new episode with Eva Walker, Director of Sales, who visited Rouge, one of the best restaurants near Rittenhouse Square for 20 years. She caught up with co-owner Rob Wasserman who described the impressive redesign the stylish eatery completed just last year.

Located just a block away from where The Laurel is currently under construction, Rouge is ideal for people watching with its sidewalk alfresco dining overlooking scenic Rittenhouse Square. Inside, the restaurant boasts a sophisticated European-style ambiance which feels more open and expansive as the bar has been relocated from its previous center-of-the-room location.

Décor isn’t the only thing that has been reimagined at Rouge. The new menu is primarily composed of small plates, but also features fresh takes on entrees like Porcini-Dusted NY Strip Steak and Norwegian Salmon, while retaining it famous burger – judged as one of the best burgers in the nation – topped with Gruyere cheese, caramelized onions and pommes frites. The drink menu for Rouge bar was designed by well-known local mixologist Lê, the owner of Hop Sing Laundromat.
